Niacinamid (Vitamin B3)

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): A multitasker that solves almost every skin problem

If we had to name the most peaceful and at the same time the most versatile ingredient in modern cosmetics, it is without a doubt niacinamide. Also known as vitamin B3, this ingredient is the ultimate team player. Unlike some other active substances that require special attention and strict rules, niacinamide goes well with everyone, is extremely stable and suits absolutely every skin type - from teenage and acne-prone to mature and dry. Its secret lies in the fact that it doesn't do just one thing. Niacinamide simultaneously restores, soothes and protects your skin.

What does niacinamide do for your face?

  • Narrows pores and regulates sebum: If you have problems with an oily T-zone and enlarged pores, niacinamide is your best friend. It has been scientifically proven that it balances the production of fat (sebum). When pores are not filled with excess sebum, they naturally shrink and become much less visible.
  • Strengthens the skin barrier: Niacinamide stimulates the production of ceramides and fatty acids – key components that make up the protective wall of your skin. A stronger barrier means that the skin retains moisture better, is less prone to drying out and is more resistant to external irritations.
  • Soothes redness and inflammation: Thanks to its strong anti-inflammatory effect, this ingredient is a lifesaver for skin prone to redness, rosacea or acne. It helps speed up the healing of inflammation and reduces irritation.
  • Fades spots and evens out skin tone: Much like vitamin C, niacinamide is excellent at fighting hyperpigmentation. It works by inhibiting the transfer of pigment (melanin) to the upper layers of the skin, thereby gradually lightening acne scars and sun spots.

Why is it so easy to love? (And incorporate into your routine)

Unlike pure vitamin C, niacinamide is chemically extremely stable. This means it does not oxidize upon exposure to air or light, so products containing it have a long shelf life and do not require special storage conditions.

Furthermore, it is not acidic, meaning the risk of irritation, stinging, or peeling is minimized. You can safely use it in both your morning and evening routines.

A final tip: Although products with very high percentages (such as 15% or 20%) exist on the market, clinical studies show that niacinamide is most effective and safest at concentrations between 2% and 10%. Anything within this range will deliver excellent results without overburdening your skin.
